Stage 1: Acute fever and upper respiratory symptoms

 · Stage 2: Fever subsides

· Stage 3: Circulatory failure, neurological problems, and hemorrhaging

· Stage 4: Shock and death (10% of all cases reach this stage)

Watch out for Stage 2. It doesn’t na magaling na ang patient.

Thanks to the bedside doctors who made sure I had a pulse 24/7 and the nurses who watched over my platelets. Thank you to Dr. Rustica Moran who made the decision to save my life when my platelets and pulse failed. I was a charity case.

The government hospitals cannot give that kind of attention to the 63,000 reported cases in 2010. I was lucky, 20 years ago. The 465 who died last year weren’t so lucky.

Our President’s weak promises make me mad.

So I pray and count my blessings. Right now, happiness for Waisty is:

1. Being healthy –  I never thought it would be so much fun. I have some kind of 1 hour exercise at least 4 times a week — either biking, swimming or boxing (see Number 2) I love eating veggies so eating healthy wasn’t much of a stretch. I feel great about making baon a priority. I feel great. I feel stronger and less sickly now.  Madali lang pala. Don’t tell my mom and my lolo kasi mga one-upper yung mga yun, aapihin lang ako. They like harping me on my weaknesses. They keep me in line that way.
2. Boxing – I tried two sessions. Every inch of my body hurts but I’ll be back for more. I normally suck at sports but I feel good about boxing. I feel strong, fast, healthy… and beautiful. Thanks to The Goat Locker Boxing Gym in Marikina.
3. Excellent Customer Service from this dude from SM Marikina. Sabi namin tuloy “Gusto mo bang mag-call center?”
4. Organic Beauty Care … it’s local and it’s affordable. I know I sound like an ad but i luvluvluv humanheartnature!
5. Buying a new house. Yessss! We’re almost there!
6. Love. ‘Nuff said.
7. Giving my mom a nice hair dye. (i’m kinda good at this)
8. Experiencing all this with my awesome family.

I got interested because it’s a spinoff from Hellblazer (the John Constantine comics, you noobs!) I really enjoyed it because I can relate to Constantine. We both can be big emotional blockheads. I won’t give a review because I don’t wanna give any spoilers.

I, however, am not sweet. I am cold to most people and I hardly have friends.

Sometimes I’m okay with this, sometimes… not so much. I am mostly happy alone but I know I need other people.

Empathy seems a lot of work for me. It’s hard to reach out to  people and be genuinely interested in their lives.

I am a social cripple.

Here’s a little fella out for revenge

I don’t care if they’re pretty and colorful. I don’t care if they’re an integral part of natural pollination. I don’t care if they sing. I don’t care if you think they’re cute.

Maybe its the beak, the filthy feathers, the reptillian feet (although I have no issues with lizards), the sharp claws, the alien expressionless eyes… the ugly greedy birdlings! The Avian flu! The avian ticks! The watery poo. Sucks to your chirping Php200.00 lovebirds!

Case #1 – Thanksgiving in San Fernando, Pampanga
A rabid turkey from hell that chases down a10-year-old girl in a red Batibot shirt. We have identified this turkey as a 30-pound bird, brown flared-up feathers, ugly red wrinkled face, red wattles (described by the victim as “the bird’s facial scrotum”) Said turkey can kick you with aforementioned reptillian feet and sharp talons that hurt and scar like hell. The victim’s identity shall be protected, as being a minor at the time of the incident. Let’s call her Waisty.

Case #2 – Totoy Resbak
This incident is evidence of their gangsta-like behavior. Pecking upon the white-stockinged feet of a certain midwifery student having lunch at an eatery beside her school, a juvenile chicken gets kicked to the curb. A few moments later, this juvenile returns with his ‘brotha’, a 40 pound turkey. Gobbles proceeded to terrorize said lady-in-white, amid the laughter of Juvenile Chicken and members of the student body.

Case # 3 – Just this Friday, 2010
Such behavior is not limited to turkeys . A stowaway lovebird, lemon yellow, 5 inches in height, was spotted to be stalking the gates of a young trainer’s home. Said lovebird perched upon the gate’s locking mechanism, as if attempting to trap the victim in. This is evidenced by the presence of acid bird poo on the padlock. Fortunately, the superhero named Lolo came to capture El Gorrion del Amor (aka Lovebird) The tiny villain battled hard with shrill shreaks and claw swipes and beak attacks. In the end, Lolo proved victorious with his hand grapple technique. The suspect is now under Lolo’s custody together with inmates Bonnie and Clyde.

I love my KFC. I love my omelettes. Case closed.

Natatawa ko sa kanya. Hanggang ngayon umaasa pa rin na makakapagsulat ako ng seryoso. Palanca daw. Sayang daw. Di naman ako karapatdapat sa pagsusulat.

Ibang-iba talaga sila ng Nanay ko. Ibang-iba ang pangarap para sakin.

Tumango na lang ako kay Bobi. Paano mo sasabihin sa sarili mong ama na nilamon na ko ng corporate world at ng pag-pangarap sa ibang bansa? Paano ko sasabihin “Tay, salamat. Pero matagal na’kong patay.” ?

Di ko masabi dahil mahal ako ni Bobi.
